"Contract position-4-5 months Send resumes to: bciociola@covexllc.com Duties: We seek an experienced individual to join a dynamic group dedicated to the development of cancer therapeutics. The candidate must possess strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, is comfortable working as part of a large cross-functional, geographically distributed team, and is prepared to work to aggressive timelines along iterative software development schedules. The ideal candidate will have degrees in both biology and computer science, previous lab experience, and recent LIMS work experience. As an integrated part of the team developing both screening and analysis foundation systems, the candidate will: 1. Identify foundation systems and/or data structures (internal to sanofi-aventis or external) suitable for storing and retrieving data from screening as well as system-wide profiling (e.g., proteomics, RNAi, etc.) 2. Develop Extract, Translate, and Load (ETL) workflows/pipelines to input data into these foundation systems as well as extract data from these systems to support both applications and analysis tools (e.g, Spotfire, Genedata) 3. Assist with application development as well as system configuration following defined software life cycle standards for software development and documentation 4. Collaborate with scientists to review new features, identify and report concerns 5. Coordinate technical implementation activities and resources to drive release iterations 6. Collaborate with Research IT to ensure systems will interface with global IT framework 7. Develop training programs for both end users and developers of these foundation systems Skills: An ideal candidate will be collaborative, self-directed and possess • At the level of the inputs/outputs/data matrixes, first-hand experience with compound assay systems such as ABASE, curve fitting, Business Objects, and Spotfire • First-hand experience with substance registration • First-hand experience with ETL workflows using programming (e.g., PERL, JAVA, C# etc. – most preferred) or pipelining tools (e.g., Pipeline Pilot, Knime, Traverna, etc.) • First-hand experience with database data loading and extraction (mySQL and ORACLE) • First-hand programming experience to manipulate large volumes (>2Tb) of large files (>2GB) • Knowledge of semantics, significance, and syntax of genomic, proteomic, siRNA screening and next-gen sequencing data as well as tools and pipelines to visualize and Education: M.Sc., Ph.D. preferred or B.Sc. with commensurate experience"
