They seek to appoint a Managing Director for one of their key businesses with emphasis on gaining further market share in West Africa. As a seasoned Managing Director, familiar turnaround strategies with experience specific to the West African market, you will be required to implement an aggressive strategy to achieve these objectives. Responsibilities • Strategy creation and implementation servicing the West African markets; • Broaden distribution channels through the empowerment of wholesalers; • Maintain and create new stakeholder relationships within the FMCG Commodity Industry; • Strengthen the brands through effective marketing initiatives; • Cross-functional communication with the Sales, Finance and Warehousing Departments and incorporating requirements into the strategy going forward. • Understanding of emergent market dynamics and incorporating that into the company’s strategy; • Manage the sourcing, ordering and purchasing of commodities at the right price, right quantities and at the right time; Prerequisites • 8-10 years experience in the FMCG foods sector, preferably dry foods; • Must have managed a division or business unit within the FMCG foods industry (non-negotiable); • Must have a good knowledge of African markets specifically West Africa (Ghana, Benin, Togo, Nigeria, Ivory Coast); • Experience in sourcing and purchasing of trade commodities; • Results-driven with a history of achievement; • Tertiary degree from a recognised institution; • Sound leadership skills; • Fluency in English is a must; • Fluency in French is desirable; Salary The position is a fulltime, permanent position based in Accra, Ghana. There is an attractive expat salary package provided. Earnings are in US dollars net per annum. In addition, there are a host of extra benefits.
