"Title: Manager of Technical Operations & Project Management Location: Port Allen, LA Description: The Manager of Technical Operations & Project Management is a member of the Drug Manufacturing Leadership Team providing strategic direction and leadership to achieve the site's goals and objectives. This individual is the principal owner of all projects related to manufacturing new drug products including: process development, automation, packaging, and meeting clinical supply requirements. As the technical leader this individual must manage relationships, agreements, budgets, and scope of work for contractors, service providers, and installers. This role is based in manufacturing but works closely with key counterparts and project teams in R&D and commercial. Responsbilities: - Provides technical leadership, organizational development and direction for manufacturing. Provide new robust and scalable manufacturing processes while minimizing time to project completion - Manage existing manufacturing process improvement projects and new innovative manufacturing process projects to reduce overall product cost structure (eg. product cost, cycle time) while driving yield and quality improvements, efficiencies and capacity creation - Develop and maintain manufacturing operating expense and capital expense budgets - Manage the manufacturing activities related to R&D INOmax drug manufacturing as well as the manufacturing and process improvements for INOcal calibration products - Manage the manufacturing activities for the chemical synthesis of nitric oxide gas - Participate in product design and manufacturing investigations, product complaint investigations, and materials issues. - May require up to 20% travel. Requirements: - Advanced degree (Bachelor's required - Master Preferred) preferably in Engineering - Minimum of 5 years relevant management experience in complex manufacturing environments. - Experience in a compliant cGMP pharmaceutical environment or other FDA regulated manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. - Must have demonstrated competency leading, aligning, and motivating personnel both within and outside immediate control to meet goals and objectives. - Demonstrated leadership, management, supervisory and technical capabilities; track record of developing strong leaders; demonstrated change management skills, and a commitment to mutual accountability are required. - Strong negotiating skills and the ability to develop long -range plans and implement projects to achieve objectives in a fast paced manufacturing environment. - Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills are also required.
