Our client is looking for a solid C++ Engineer who can work in Austin for the next six months.

Job Description:
At a high level, the ideal candidate should have 10 continuous years of experience with Visual C++/C# in a multi-threaded server software environment. Candidate must have experience in code quality improvement through design/code reviews and advanced debugging techniques.
Proven Experience developing and maintaining distributed applications. Practically all non-functional requirements pertaining to distributed applications are high-priority. Experience and/or interest in issues of reliability, robustness, security, manageability, and maintainability/extensibility are a plus.
Solid understanding of the Windows and .NET platforms at a systems level is expected. A deep understanding of multithreading and network communications are very important.
Knowledge of distributed systems implementation and manageability issues and practices. Examples include Windows (NT) Services, WMI, Performance Counters, MSMQ, SQL Server 2005 Service Broker, Logging, Security, etc.
Expert C++ skills. Maintenance, porting, etc. of the existing code. Along with some new development in C++. Knowledge of and adherence to best practices for coding, unit-testing, etc. is a must.
Strong debugging, maintenance, and refactoring skills.
General knowledge of SOA, SaaS, Web Services, etc. is a plus.
Strong skills in the areas of unit-testing, performance analysis, debugging, and Secure Software Development is a plus.
Experience using Intel VTune, Visual Studio 2005 Performance Analyzer, BoundsChecker, WinDbg, SysInternals, Windows Network Monitor, Wireshark, fuzzing tools and frameworks, etc.
Experience with Microsoft Team System, SQL Server 2005, ASP.NET, XML, LINQ, MSIL, assembly language, Microsoft Enterprise Application Blocks, Workflow Foundation, Presentation Foundation, Visio, and other useful technologies are all big pluses.
Ability to identify bottlenecks, potential problems in multi-process, multi-threaded code is a plus.
Experience creating own unit test programs to verify correct functioning of server applications and services.
Experience in the use of performance and code quality tools such as Bounds Checker and VTune are a plus.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related fields is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Team System, Clear Quest, and Client/Server Architecture are essential. MS Certifications (MCSD, MCAD) are a plus.
