"Job Function: Responsible for producing high quality localized versions of Company software in a variety of languages in collaboration with external vendors. Also responsible for the files, tools and processes required for the product localization. Works in close collaboration with the US the development team and proactively reviews the product and processes for potential localization and internationalization problems. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: • Coordinates all software localization efforts with the core development team and localization teams. • Participates in planning meetings with core development team and localization projects teams to discuss design decisions and to provide feedback on schedule and cost of localization. • Analyzes software for localization requirements. Ensures product can be localized with standard localization tools and processes. Works with Process Analysts to define areas requiring globalization. • Provides input and guidance to Program managers regarding feasibility of creating product in requested languages. • Provides input to project forecasts and determines what effect proposed changes may have on outcome. Consults and shapes project plans by scheduling, estimating and advising how long localization effort will take. • Provides specific scope information (such as word count) to help estimate financial impact. • Provides training to various groups on localization process to ensure developers are aware of localization and globalization impact on the product. • Creates and maintains software localization kit. (i.e. the process, tools and documentation to localize the product). • Implements and improves current procedures and processes within the software localization team to reflect best practices. • Develops tools, processes, scripts to automate tasks. • Actively contributes to the Internationalization and globalization of company products. • Supports internal and external localization teams by answering technical questions concerning the software functionality and software localization kit. • Reviews defects escalated by external partners, determines source and supports/facilitates the defect fixing. • Identifies source and provides information, advice and solutions to the development team to facilitate Core/Globalization defect fixes. Required Skills & Experience: • Education: Bachelor or Masters Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. • 7+ Years of Software Engineering Experience. • 4+yrs of experience in localization tools and scripting languages (Shell, Python, Perl). • Experience in software development frameworks and languages required, C++, C#, Visual Basic, .NET, Perl, MSI. • In-depth knowledge & experience collaborating in a multicultural dispersed team to deliver projects. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop creative solutions. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
