This exciting company is Looking for a HANDS-ON, experienced Controller or Cost Accounting professional who loves manufacturing interaction, but can also communicate with the executive team. The basic purpose of this position is to manage all facets of cost accounting, finance, and costing to ensure: accurate cost center allocations, appropriate controls are in place, manage the data integrity in the manufacturing computer system, and perform period and year end closings. This position has a DIRECT PATH TO CONTROLLER, and it’s possible to be hired at that level initially for a really strong person. Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant / Controller •Manage Period-End and Year-End closings. •Develop and follow-up on budgets of all Manufacturing & Manufacturing Service Cost Centers. •Establish and maintain internal controls. •Building comprehensive detailed analyses and reporting structure (especially on the cost of goods manufactured portion) of the P&L. •Cost center analyses. •Cost Accountant performs cost rolls for existing products, new products and estimates. •Ensure BOMs and Routings are accurate and meaningful. •Ensure Standards for material, labor & overhead rates are accurate and meaningful. •Perform monthly analysis of variances (Labor, PPV, Overhead). •Ensure the appropriate controls and structures are in place for scrap and cycle count reporting. •Participate in coordinating the annual budget process. •Review monthly reconciliation of accounts. Requirements for the Cost Accountant / Controller •BS in Accounting, Finance or similar •5 years experience in manufacturing cost accounting. •MRP/ ERP experience •Ability to identify and analyze business issues; developing and recommending solutions. •Experienced with: freight, marketing/sales expenses, forecasting, inventory, expense reports, auditors, variance analysis, etc. •Must be a hands-on, “floor oriented” manufacturing controller. Not looking for “pencil pushers” or “desk jockeys”."
