SQL DBA/Engineer in St Louis, MO The Database Administration Engineer manages the MS SQL server production and development databases. This position is responsible for developing, managing, maintaining and troubleshooting production and development databases, as well as data integrity. The Database Administration Engineer will work closely with the systems and applications administrators to achieve Firm goals. Duties and Responsibilities: Monitors and repairs databases in a high availability 24x7 environment Ensures all databases are up and running, performance tuned and accessible Assists in installation, upgrades and maintenance of SQL software Consults on database design, including table design, security design, impact analysis and table modification Provides a high level support for various database centric user applications such as document management, shipping and legal intake applications. Prepares, reviews and maintains effective procedures and documentation Creates procedures to effectively manage, monitor and report on system status and health Develops processes and standards for I.S. Network Operations technicians to monitor system Consults on database design, including table design, security design, impact analysis and table modification Recommends and configures database software, utilities and database backup and recovery, disaster recovery, testing and space management strategies Performs other DBA duties as requested. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering or other computer related technical degree or equivalent experience Minimum two years MS SQL Server database administration in a 24x7 environment Minimum three years experience with Windows Server, 2003, 2008, 2008 R2. Essential Job Specifications/Qualifications: Proven T-SQL and scripting skills Proven analytical and problem solving skills Ability to create and troubleshoot reports using MS SQL Reporting Services Ability to deal professionally and communicate clearly, concisely and effectively with internal and external clients on all levels. Ability to document procedures clearly and concisely Willingness to learn new skills Basic PC skills and knowledge of applications Knowledge of the following is a plus: PeopleSoft, LegalKey, DOCS, Elite, Web applications and Citrix/Terminal Server Ability to work on-call rotation as well as working evenings and weekends as scheduled.  http://bull.hn/l/ED7E/5"
