"NOTE: DW (Ab-Initio) with Oracle database as backend along with application programs written in C, Cobol, Perl Job Description: The Data Warehouse Support Consultant’s role is to coordinate and supervise all activities related to the support, maintenance and development for the data warehouse application. This is a hands-on technical position. The consultant will be responsible for participating in all support activities along with the offshore team. The key responsibilities are to fix the Incidents based on the priorities, support all aspects of the delivery, consulting with the offshore counterparts on capacity, guiding the offshore team, interacting with the Business to understand the Business Requirement and providing solutions. Roles & Responsibilities Knowledge & Experience: • Atleast 5-6 years experience in IT software support and delivery • Atleast 3-4 years experience in Ab Initio and Unix • Working experience leading a support team to deliver 24x7 support. Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions. • Hands-on experience with automated software and system management tools. • Knowledge of Software Development Best Practices and SDLC. • Should be willing to work in offshore-onsite model of Delivery • Should be able to guide the offshore team in delivery. • Exceptional communication skills; articulate and persuasive. Technical Skills: • Ability to communicate with end-users and demonstrate knowledge of data warehouse end-to-end processes, including business requirement logical modeling, physical database design, Abinitio / ETL, database design, PL/SQL, SQL and performance tuning. • Excellent data analytical skills • Experience with database design (logical, physical, conceptual) for data warehousing environment using Oracle relational database • Experience with data warehouse Abinitio/ETL solutions. • Programming experience in C, PERL and Cobol • Advanced Structured Query Language (SQL) and PL/SQL programming experience. • Knowledge of batch jobs written in C, PERL, Cobol using Shell Script. • Knowledge of Retail Domain is a Plus IT Jobs in US for Canadian passport holders.
