Applications/databases are mainframe-, client/server-, Web-, or PC-based. Translates functional requirements and technical specifications into test scripts for new development or enhancement projects for internal clients. Writes and executes comprehensive test plans, including those for functionality, volume, load/stress, performance, security, configuration, and business continuity. Supports test environments, including populating them with test data. Analyzes project documentation written by other team members (includes the functional requirements and unit and integration test plans) to ensure the requirements are testable and the full range of system aspects are being tested. Reviews the technical writer's technical and user documentation to validate procedures. Analyzes input and output of test data. Identifies discrepancies between requirements and expected results. Documents exceptions in test log/exception tracking tool and retests. Recommends closure. Uses automated test tools and automates testing to the highest degree desirable. Participates in Inspections and other meetings throughout product life cycle to identify testing issues. Complies with IT policies and procedures, especially those for quality and productivity standards that enable the team to meet established client service levels. Complies with Information Security policies and procedures. Verifies deliverables meet Information Security requirements. Complies with Retail Systems policies and procedures including attendance and weekly time and status reporting. Understands and adheres to Vanguard's Diversity mission and policies.
