"Are you a good fit for this job? Business Development Specialist in Arlington, VA SUMMARY The Business Development Specialist will act as the focal point for the organization's transitions by aligning the organization with strategic partners to market to federal agencies. Position requires knowledge in company operations. Position also requires knowledge and willingness to learn the proposal process, including development of technical and cost submissions, coordination with contracts, pricing, finance, and management to ensure cohesive submissions are prepared.  This individual will be responsible for customer relations within a 200 mile radius of the Washington metro area, responsible for meeting with current and potential customers, explaining the products and services available, and securing new contracts.   SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Identify, prioritize and pursue new and existing business opportunities. Requires ability to quickly understand new opportunities and evaluate their potential for All Native Solutions. Generate new business opportunities through prospecting and networking. Work closely with the Solutions staff and Business Development team for the preparation and successful submission of proposals. Develop and implement a process to qualify leads and making the formal decision to pursue the opportunity. Manage the transition from opportunity discovery to the proposal process where the opportunity is closed. Ability to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization, in both a team and independent environment. Willingness to challenge the status quo to drive significant increases in high-margin, recurring revenue. Must be able to handle multiple concurrent projects. Help negotiate and close complex deals that benefit All Native Solutions. Thorough understanding of Native American corporation contracting capabilities with the Federal Government as both a prime contractor and subcontractor. Must be able to communicate well and maintain professional atmosphere when meeting with customers and potential customers. Use of Microsoft Excel and ability to develop pricing documentation is essential.     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications or management.  Experience may be substituted for education. 5+ years of business development experience, managing profit and loss, and successfully attracting new customers. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Must stay organized while multi-tasking and work well in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.     OTHER REQUIREMENTS Travel within 200 mile radius of DC metro area.  Occasional travel to Winnebago, NE and Omaha, NE.
