Manager of Information Technology in Pittsburgh, PA Job Description The Manager in this senior role manages a medium sized group of IT professionals in a large and complex global network environment. This individual will have superior technically-oriented network trouble-shooting expertise. Duties include hiring, firing, career development, performance objectives and performance reviews. S/he must maintain sufficient technical awareness to effectively manage the IT professionals for which s/he is responsible. S/he will influence the success of projects within his/her domain by providing needed resources and/or recommending alternatives. S/he will oversee key strategic projects and/or projects that cross areas of responsibility. S/he cultivates the client relationship by developing an in-depth understanding of their needs and ensuring that the group's efforts are directed towards meeting the objectives of the client. S/he is responsible for managing the operating plan and expenses for this group. Qualifications Skill Sets - Detailed and advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switch technologies - Juniper, Cisco and Checkpoint (Checkpoint is a plus, not a requirement) firewall experience - Hands on experiencing performing protocol decode at all layers of the OSI model (1-7) - The use of Netscout's Infinistream and or Wireshark products - Knowledge of Load Balancing technologies including F5 and Cisco - Must be methodical in approach in troubleshooting network outages at various stages along the path - Experience w/SNMP Network Management systems - Experience with network proxies and intra and internet communication - Able to lead technical troubleshooting calls and manage cross disciplines for quick problem resolution Additional pluses: - Knowledge of Web, App and Database products and concepts as related to network technologies - Good technical presentation and writing skills - VoIP and QoS experience - The use of Visio for diagraming and illustration http://bull.hn/l/PD2P/5"
