Post Resume -Get Paid by Employers at Resumark .com Subject: Compliance Director – Consumer Product Testing, New York, NY Alice Morgan posted a job: Compliance Director – Consumer Product Testing, New York, NY "The Compliance Testing Director North America Consumer is responsible for overseeing the testing units for the North America Consumer businesses. This leader will provide consumer product-focused testing expertise tailored to the specific business and operational needs of Consumer North America businesses. This leadership role reports into the Global Consumer Compliance Testing Head and collaborates with the product Compliance Heads, other Regional Testing Heads, control functions and business leaders to evaluate and assess the regulatory control infrastructure. The Compliance Testing Director will carry out the following activities, directly or through established Compliance Testing staff, in fulfillment of these responsibilities: Planning, Management, Execution and Oversight: * Issue and maintain the annual testing plan, in conjunction with individual product Compliance heads. * Execute an appropriate testing plan against those services provided by Compliance to franchise, including AML. * Oversee the timely execution of reviews and manage capacity planning to provide completion of the Compliance Testing Plan. * Manage testing execution to align with appropriate policy, standards and directives. * Drive issue resolution to address root cause of issues and provide appropriate escalation of issues. * Provide Business Management with an independent and objective assessment, examination and evaluation on the compliance with regulatory requirements. * Institute a process of continual review and optimization of the testing strategy; maintain efficiency and effectiveness of test design while taking into account variable requirements of individual business units. * Maintain appropriate training programs for staff. * Build and maintain strong relationships with other functional heads, working in consultation with Finance, Legal, Risk, Operations & Technology and Internal Audit to create a supportive and seamless Regulatory environment and culture. * Lead and manage a staff of Compliance officers at various levels, with accountability for hiring, training, development, performance and compensation recommendations for directly supervised staff, and accountability for providing input on the above issues for matrix-managed staff. Advisory: * Build and maintain appropriate subject matter expertise personally and within the Compliance staff, coordinating with and leveraging shared utilities and subject matter experts. * Collaborate with other subject matter experts on the identification of risk and integration of legal/regulatory Compliance requirements into all written policies and procedures and new product/process proposals, together with appropriately designed Controls. Communications: * Keep Compliance, Business and Functional management informed of significant matters and oversee a governance process designed to communicate timely and relevant information to senior management as well as Corporate / Regional management, via both established dashboards and other vehicles. Qualifications: * Experienced risk/control/compliance professional with a strong understanding of Consumer businesses, with an emphasis on retail banking, mortgage and credit card product sets (5+ years in a managerial role). * Experience in developing, executing and leading regulatory reviews. * Experience assessing regulatory areas to develop annual testing plans. * Experience interacting with regulators. * Ability to gain an understanding of Corporate and product-specific policies/control environment, as well as key U.S. regulatory requirements.
