"Job: Plant Manager (refrigerated appliances) Shenzhen, China in Shenzhen, China Plant Manager – Shenzhen, China – Our client, a leading North American global manufacturer of specialty refrigerated appliances is seeking an outstanding individual to join their team as Plant Manager. The Shenzhen plant began operations in 2000. It is a 6,000 square meter facility and employs up to 300 staff in what is usually a one shift operation. The facility produces more than 200,000 units annually for worldwide sales and distribution. The company will obtain necessary visas and provide relocation and housing assistance. Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement manufacturing strategies and plans to ensure that the manufacturing facility supports the company’s strategic initiatives. Meet or exceed annual, quarterly and monthly business objectives including manufacturing budgets, product/production costs and production schedules while ensuring that all quality standards are met. Ensure that operations, practices and processes, equipment, facilities, quality and safety standards meet or exceed customer expectations as determined by customer audits. Develop and implement plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital while maintaining quality standards. Establishes group and individual accountabilities in assigned departments for productivity, quality and cost reduction. Coordinate, in partnership with other functional leaders, purchasing, manufacturing and shipping. Mentor and develop manufacturing leaders. Continually improve plant safety performance. Requirements University education, preferably in engineering or related discipline. Minimum of 15 years’ experience in high volume manufacturing operations ideally including experience in the manufacture of refrigeration units. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Plant Manager of a similar-size facility. Excellent leadership, problem solving and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to reduce costs and improve quality in a manufacturing facility. Stong communication skills however, ability to speak Mandarin/Cantonese is NOT required but would be an asset.
