ROLE OBJECTIVE :- Responsible for planning and execution of all kinds of planned, preventive and emergency/breakdown maintenance work across Electrical, Mechanical and Civil jobs Coordination with user departments to enhance the quality and efficiency of service delivery to internal customers Management of all new projects in the plant. Monitoring of engineering expenses wrt budget. RESPONSIBILITIES :- Develops and constantly upgrades / modifies the ‘Engineering’ strategy of the company in order to provide the best possible service in a prompt and cost effective manner to all user departments Assists Plant head in continuously identifying opportunities for technology and process related upgradation /innovations Plans and manages the overall activities of assigned personnel in the Engineering Department. Provides overall management and supervision of all planned, preventive and emergency/breakdown maintenance and repair activities on a wide variety of production and non-production equipment Manages the development, updating and control of all maintenance plans, to ensure that resources and services are provided at optimum operational and cost levels Supports and monitors planning for all major plant shutdowns and overhauls. Manages the identification process for required plant improvements, in conjunction with top management and user departments Monitors, evaluates and supports the ongoing management of project construction/installation work through to completion, commissioning and handover to Unit Incharges Ensures the continued development/upgrading of maintenance procedures and participating in technical and administrative meetings on the same Approves allocation of manpower to maintenance jobs based on plans, priorities and emergency requirements from time to time Monitors and evaluates all kinds of maintenance jobs executed for quality, timeliness, accuracy and the procedure followed and points out observations to concerned personnel for corrective actions, if necessary Guides and supervises the execution of complicated maintenance jobs Ensures proper documentation of all jobs including details of problem diagnosis and resolution as well as spares used for future reference and analysis Finalises the annual and monthly maintenance plan related inputs for the business planning process in the company Identifies cost reduction opportunities within the department through innovative maintenance strategies, appropriate spares management and appropriate manpower utilisation measures Participates in the budgeting exercise and provide inputs on maintenance cost estimates and related costs."
