This includes: interviewing, verify employment history, conducting background checks, and administering tests when required. Interact with various employment sources, local state employment agencies, and schools to recruit qualified applicants. • Responsible for new employee orientation assuring all company policies/procedures, benefits, and pay periods are explained and all required forms are completed. • Participate in, or arrange for exit interviews as needed and prepare necessary separation notices. • Assists Managers, Supervisors and employees in understanding company policies and procedures. • Maintains performance review dates for all salaried employees and notifies manager/supervisor when reviews are due. Follows up on late reviews. • Analyze benefit packages and recommend changes to local General Manager and/or corporate benefits manager. • Represents the Division at personnel related hearings and investigations. • Participate as an active member of the plant safety & health committees, attend monthly meetings. Assure investigations of all work related injuries/illnesses are completed in a timely manner. • Assist the Safety Coordinator in developing and administering safety incentive programs to encourage "safety first" attitude/action from all plant hourly employees. • Responsible for all aspects of the Worker's Compensation program assuring compliance with all federal and local regulations. Supervises the preparation of the initial accident/illness investigation report and remains in constant contact with the injured employee, all medical personnel and the insurance carrier to assure all claims are handled appropriately. Interviews local medical personnel to assure the panel of medical providers are knowledgeable of the regulations regarding worker's compensation and are familiar and/or trained in occupational medicine. • Assists in the preparation of all job descriptions at the division and maintains a current electronic file copy of each. • Supervises the preparation of: annual Affirmative Action Program, monthly attendance reports and other HR related reports. • Administers and maintains the records of the Tuition Reimbursement Program. • Administers employee recognition programs, supervises the preparation of the company newsletter, and all company sponsored social functions. • Good planning and communication skills; General understanding of State and Federal regulations, e.g., EEO, Worker’s Compensation; Ability to plan and conduct meetings for groups; Ability to promote “team” atmosphere throughout all areas of Division. Excellent PC skills, word processing, spread sheet, and data base. Experienced in personnel work and recruiting for office and factory. • Bachelor’s degree, Human Resource or related discipline preferred; • eight years related experience and/or training in manufacturing Human Resources. • SPHR certification is preferred."
