View company name and apply directly at: http://bit.ly/ljXQqI Job Description: Our firm is a New York City-based private debt and equity firm that makes investments in small to medium sized restaurant, specialty retail, and hospitality businesses primarily in the form of senior secured loans, mezzanine loans and preferred equity participations. We seek one additional Senior Associate to help manage increasing deal flow. Position Description: This individual will have responsibility for evaluating and executing investment opportunities, including: (1) Financial analysis and due diligence (2) Structuring transactions (3) Negotiating with target Company, shareholders, and third parties (4) Overseeing the preparation of legal documentation (5) Coordinating third-party advisors The position will allow an individual with strong financial analytical skills to grow beyond his/her financial modeling capabilities and further develop his/her judgment, deal structuring, and client-facing skills. In addition to significant transaction experience, this individual will have the opportunity to play an active role in the building and evolution of our firm’s business. While we are a process-driven organization that is built to originate and manage a high volume of relatively small investments, we maintain an entrepreneurial culture and work/life balance is held in high regard. The candidate we seek: Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in investment banking or leveraged finance followed by 3-4 years of private equity/debt investing. Technical finance and analytical skills are critical as is the ability to concisely communicate the risks and opportunities associated with investing in a business. We seek a colleague who is a self-starter and who has the ability to handle multiple transactions in a highly organized manner while exhibiting a willingness to adhere to our process and methodologies. We require an individual who understands that his/her role is to provide fundamental transaction analytics, but who, after a brief period of training, can quickly become comfortable managing all facets of the transaction. In addition to strong critical thinking, this position requires developed communication and interpersonal skills. Prior investing, banking, or operating experience in the franchise, restaurant, or retail industries is required.
