Job Purpose: The Manager, Software Development will lead new product development and product enhancement activities, have responsibilities for product architecture, as well as managing team members responsible for development and enhancement of business applications. Position Objectives: The Manager’s chief objective is to ensure that the team produces technically superior software that provides tangible value to users. He or she must be able to manage and direct multiple concurrent and complex software development efforts and communicate their details to a variety of technical and non-technical personnel. Leadership skills and motivational abilities are essential. The Manager must work across all departments to drive projects from initiation to completion as defined within the scope set by internal and external users, ensuring the adherence to sound software development practices. This is a highly technical position with accountability for product quality but is also a leadership position requiring the ability to motivate and mentor development staff.
