"Contract Position-12 Months Send resumes to: bciociola@covexllc.com Duties: We seek an experienced Data Manager to join a dynamic group dedicated to the development of cancer therapeutics. As an integrated part of the team developing both screening and analysis foundation systems, you will Identify foundation systems and/or data structures (internal to company or external) suitable for storing and retrieving data from compound / biologic screening as well as system-wide profiling (e.g., proteomics, siRNA, etc.) Develop Extract, Translate, and Load (ETL) workflows/pipelines to input data into these foundation systems as well as extract data from these systems to support both applications and analysis tools (e.g, Spotfire, Genedata) Develop protocols and procedures for quality control of data entered into these foundation systems Assist with application or pipeline development as well as system configuration following defined software life cycle standards for software development and documentation Develop training programs for both end users and developers of these foundation systems. Skills: Knowledge requirements An ideal candidate will be collaborative, self-directed and possess At the level of the inputs/outputs/data matrixes, first-hand experience with compound assay systems such as ABASE, curve fitting, Business Objects, and Spotfire First-hand experience with substance registration First-hand experience with ETL workflows using programming (e.g., PERL, JAVA, etc. – most preferred) or pipelining tools (e.g., Pipeline Pilot, Knime, Traverna, etc.) First-hand experience with database data loading and extraction (mySQL and ORACLE) First-hand programming experience to manipulate large volumes (>2Tb) of large files (>2GB) Knowledge of semantics, significance, and syntax of genomic, proteomic, siRNA screening and next-gen sequencing data as well as tools and pipelines to visualize and annotate these data (e.g., Spotfire, Ingenuity, Nextbio, Omicsoft, etc.) Required Key Attributes Positive, proactive can-do mindset Demonstrated ability to lead projects of moderate scope, mapping-out critical path, milestones and timelines, as well as manage customer expectations with minimal supervision Developed communication and presentation skills and a successful track record of collaborating with cross-functional scientific and computing teams Ability to multitask and works well with ambiguity; helps to clarify information into something actionable Focuses on the outcome and within reason does what is necessary to get work completed, even if it falls outside the scope Intellectually and scientifically curious about oncology as well as types and application of data generated Works and collaborates well across computing functions within sanofi to complete tasks at hand Education: MS or higher in Biological Domain or Computer Science"
