View company name and apply directly at: http://bit.ly/nwoRG5 Job Description: We are looking for an Associate Analyst candidate who exhibits a strong desire to be involved in the fundamental research process and has a history of experience that reveals the ability to be highly proactive in day-to-day and longer term responsibilities. The candidate is expected to show both an interest in the capital markets but also a deep curiosity in the fundamental drivers of the consumer behavior. The Associate Analyst will be viewed as a key partner in the success of the Home & Personal Care (HPC) franchise. Key responsibilities include: Fundamental Research: The Associate Analyst will focus on the U.S. HPC sector and will have the primary responsibility of maintaining company, industry, and macroeconomic financial and valuation models; management of various data collection processes such as sector-specific data gathering including ad hoc and ongoing consumer surveys; conversations with key industry contacts; and, attendance to key industry events when possible. Idea Generation and Publication: Through the research process and independently, the Associate Analyst is expected to be a partner in developing research ideas along with the Lead Analyst. The Associate Analyst will also be expected to participate in contributing to the authoring of various research products published by the franchise. Client Service: The Associate Analyst will interact with internal Sales and Research, as well as external clients, industry specialists, and company representatives/management teams. The Associate Analyst will assist in managing timely completion of data/research requests as they are received from CER’s clients and as directed by the Lead Analyst. Franchise Management: The Associate Analyst is expected to manage various administrative tasks for the franchise including (but not limited to) the calendar of industry events, organizing meetings with company management or industry experts, and the distribution of the franchise’s published product. Skills / Experience: - 4-6 years experience in any of the following: (1) equity research in a consumer-focused sector, (2) strategy consulting with at least several projects in consumer-focused sectors, (3) internal strategy within a consumer products company, or (4) corporate finance within a consumer products company. - The candidate should be comfortable with developing and executing a workplan, should be an independent thinker, and enjoy discovery of creative solutions to complex problem - Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills to be expressed in an enclosed writing sample. - Working knowledge of the MS Office suite, with preference for a candidate with strong Excel modeling skills. - Understanding of GAAP accounting, financial statements, and accounting logic. - MBA and/or CFA a strong plus"
