Must have 5+ years of experience creating & testing Java apps, preferably with Bioinformatics/genomics experience. Require Java, UNIX, OOA/OOD, UML. Bioinformatics and analyst skills preferred. Basic Qualification: • Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field plus five years of experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered. • Extensive Java experience required (5+ years) • 2+ years in WebSphere & Distributed Computing • 2+ years in Web Service Development & RAD • 2+ years in scripting languages such as Perl or Groovy • Proficiency in Unix and Linux • Must have Test plan/strategy development experience • Experience with testing framework (e.g. Junit) • Knowledge of system design principles, software development methodologies, and computer programming • Knowledge of Systems Architecture • Willing to work in a team environment as well as being comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. • Highly motivated, willing to learn and implement leading edge technologies. • Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, & technical design skills • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills along with analytical, problem-solving, and technical design skills. Other Qualifications: • Experience in the following areas helpful: gene expression, genotyping, DNA sequencing, pharmacogenomics, proteomics and cytogenetics.
