"Software Engineer (GUI) - Boston, MA PERMANENT ROLE! AVID Technical Resources is an IT staffing firm and one of the leading IT recruiting companies in Boston. We are recruiting for a Software Engineer (GUI Development) that has the background listed below. Responsibilities: Work within a small team developing new GUI features and enhancements for our E-XMS monitoring product. Opportunities to work in Java SE, Java Servlet, JavaScript, JSON, HTML, Fusion Charts, JOSSO, Tomcat, and some SQL. Engineering experience designing and delivering new software features to a shipping product. Practical experience designing, documenting, and presenting your enhancements to the team, then coding, testing, and releasing your work. Experience working in a distributed development team. Requirements: Computer Science Degree. Knowledge and experience in Java Swing and HTML user interface development is required. Experience writing software using the full software development process from design through release. Solid understanding of Java Web Application, Java Application Server, and Database concepts. Familiarity with Apache Tomcat and SQL database. Experience with Eclipse or other popular IDE. Knowledge of how VoIP and Cellular phone calls work is a plus. Understanding of IP packet network architectures and Wireshark is a plus.
