Great opportunity for a Cognos Business Intelligence Developer / Report Writer in a newly created position on a small team with very low turn over! We are working directly with the hiring manager. ROLE COGNOS BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE DEVELOPER / REPORT WRITER Performs a key role on a High Performance team focused on delivering Business Intelligence across the entire organization. Work closely with the BI Analyst to design and develop Intelligence Solutions for different areas of the Business. Provide technical expertise in design of reports, dashboards, data stores, data warehouse & ETL processes. Collaborate with the IT team to implement industry standards & best practices in the BI discipline. Actively monitor performance of the environment and its individual components to ensure Organization’s SLA are met. Provide technical support for Cognos environment. -- Work closely with BI Analyst and provide BI Development support for delivery of required reports and dashboards. -- Transform key business requirement to deliver requested reports and dashboards using Cognos toolset -- Design, develop and implement robust and extensible ETL Solutions. -- Maintain, enhance and implement changes to organization Data Warehouse Environment -- Prototype, design and develop Cognos Presentation Layer artifacts -- Perform detailed technical documentation of design, development, testing and deployment activities. -- Maintain version control on all artifacts for different projects -- Executing, migrating and automating existing reports to support day to day requests -- Work close with other IT Team members to use existing organization data sources effectively for the BI needs -- Setup and support Development and Production BI Environments REQUIRED -- 4+ years hands on experience with IBM Cognos 8 or 10 or similar technology -- Solid understanding of ETL and Data Warehouse Design Patterns -- Report Development experience with Cognos or other tools -- Experience with Web Application Designs and Architecture -- Strong problem Solving Skills -- Expert level SQL skills & experience with SSIS, SQL Server, IBM DB2 -- Experience with HTML, Javascript, CSS, XML, OLAP, Data modeling, Report Development, Production support -- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills -- BA or BS degree Please contact me if you are interested.
