"Looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer - Dimension Modeling / ETL in Seattle, WA Premera is building innovative customer tools and developing strategic technology solutions to address current and future healthcare initiatives.  Premera’s corporate strategic initiatives are driving large scale and complex BI and information management activities. As a Senior Business Intelligence Developer you will be responsible for designing Dimension Data Marts/ETL Architecture and developing capabilities on our BI platforms that ensure our customers are able to have timely access to critical analytical and information needs.   JOB RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                             Anticipate customers’ analytic needs and proactively conceptualize and champion high-value Business Intelligence solutions. Collaborate with business partners to learn business processes and capture requirements relative to proposed solutions. Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex customer analytic solutions by applying expert level understanding of Business Intelligence best practices. Apply a rich background in systems and data analysis to conduct in-depth evaluation of source system data and processes. Use industry standard modeling tools to generate richly documented, creatively designed data models. Use the latest Business Intelligence development tools, methods, and technologies to implement high performance, complex analytic solutions.  Maintain regular contact with customers throughout the development cycle to ensure each step of implementation tracks customers’ needs. Lead and conduct unit and system testing to ensure design is still relevant and implementation is producing a useful, maintainable, reliable product. Document each step of development to ensure adequate communication within the team and customers. Design and develop customer training materials, and conduct customer training sessions. Mentor and train other team members by introducing them to new technologies, methods, and learning resources. Design and build best-of-class production processes that ensure security, efficiency, and availability of analytic tools and data.   QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Associates or Bachelors in C.S. or related field or equivalent work experience. 6 + years’ experience participating in the development of Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing systems. Advanced SQL skills. Proven knowledge of Dimensional Modeling. Strong Cognos skills. Netezza stored procedures. IBM/InfoSphere DataStage experience. Experience working with customers from the initial development of business requirements, through all the SDLC steps and providing on-going maintenance and support. Consults with clients and teammates to identify all facets of an issue and generate a solution.  Understands potential impacts to processes and systems across organization and factors these into solutions.   Excellent conceptualization, analytical and logic skills. Extensive experience working in a customer-focused environment.  Demonstrated ability to assess root issues and provide excellent viable solutions for the business and to the customer.
