The D&TS group is responsible for servicing the data needs (sourcing, cleansing, storage and distribution) of various Investment Management applications supporting the Fixed Income business, including Research, Portfolio & Risk Management and Client Reporting. Data domains “mastered” by the D&TS team include Security Reference data, Benchmarks and Analytics. We are looking for a well-rounded and industry knowledgeable senior developer with 6-8 years of information technology experience, at least 4 years developing financial reference data, trading, or risk management systems. Technical experience should include a combination of database programming and command-line / scripting languages. Experience with .NET is plus.  The position requires a good understanding of the financial industry and Capital Markets, and experience working with market data and fixed income analytics.   The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to provide support for proprietary and vendor fixed income analytics data used by portfolio and risk managers.  This includes:  supporting the full data acquisition and scrubbing process, developing/integrating with our quality control program, tuning/enhancing the existing batch stream, developing business logic enhancements to the existing analytics data, and integration with the firm’s investment management applications and data warehouses.   The candidate will work with business users, IT management and various IT groups to identify and document the specifications, analyze data, and develop/implement technology solutions.  The candidate will be required to develop a deep understanding of the FIT technical architecture including the database and application design, and the impact of design decisions on application performance, maintainability and data quality.  The role requires writing technical and design specifications, as well as coding solutions. The candidate will work on strategic initiatives and tactical enhancements.  Members of the project team will include both on-shore and offshore developers.  The individual must be familiar with industry standard development methodologies and best practices to ensure the team’s work is compliant with Sarbanes Oxley, SAS 70, and other system risk management guidelines.
