"Berean Group is Seeking an Operations Database Administrator Location: Cleveland, OH area Duration: Full-Time Operations Database Administrator Our client is currently looking for a talented Microsoft SQL Server (2005, 2008, 2012) Database Administrator with 5+ years of experience for its Solon, Ohio office. This DBA position will deliver operations and engineering excellence for several large (multi-terabyte) databases in a clustered environment on a shared storage (SAN). The ideal candidate will be responsible for distributed database environments on the Windows platform and have excellent interpersonal communication skills. Successful candidates will have strong leadership skills, technical project management skills, and the ability to maintain high availability SQL Server databases. Knowledge of MySQL will be an added advantage. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years relevant experience • Fluency in MS SQL Server technologies and tools, DB development • Strong query and database tuning skills • Experience in managing multiple clustered SQL server databases on shared storage • Experience with database backups and remote disaster recovery • Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention. • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server including log shipping and clustering. • Experience with Reporting and Analysis Services and working with BCP. • Knowledge of indexes, index management and statistics. • Experience with SQL Server database table partitioning. • Experience with distributed queries / federated tables. • Proven experience using T-SQL and query optimization. • Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts, including PowerShell. • Experience working with Windows server, including Failover clustering and Active Directory. • Experience designing optimized disk configurations. • Good working knowledge of TCP IP and DNS. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience in a 24X7 production environment Preferred Qualifications • Experience with multiple database platforms is a plus • Passion for learning and using new technologies • Thrives in fast-paced, innovative environment • Scripting languages a plus For More Job description and to apply click on the links below: [ http://www.bereangroup.com/jobInfo.do?jobId=116948 ] You can also mail your resume at resumes@bereangroup.com and sheela.sood@bereangroup.com the job #116948 in the subject line.
