Job Description This is a key role with responsibility and accountability for the success of software engineering projects. The focus of the role will be on timely and to budget software delivery of required scope and quality. Summary of Key Tasks and Activities: End to end responsibility for the management of major software engineering projects within Agreeing and formalizing project scope. Scheduling project tasks, milestones and deliverables. In daily cooperation with Team Managers, project team members, architects, and other Project Managers. Work with a multi-functional development team to agree, track and manage detailed schedules for individual work packages. Regularly communicating project status and issues. Promptly highlighting exceptions. Management of project risks. Active management of an efficient relationship with all project stakeholders. Management and reporting on financial status of projects (in man-days). Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the Quality Management System. Regular reporting in the form of weekly and monthly Project Status Reports Desired Skills & Experience Major responsibilities/skills Planning, organizing, securing, managing, leading and controlling resources. Proven experience of managing projects in a product lifecycle environment, ideally in the telecoms industry. Ability to pre-emptively manage issues and deal with exceptions. A broad contemporary computing and technical background (languages, systems, environments, trends). Excellent interpersonal communications skills on management level as well as towards SW engineers. Ability to travel internationally, at least short term. Highly desirable skills Waterfall/Agile (SCRUM) project management Critical chain project management Experience in managing resources PRINCE-2 Foundation or Practitioner grade certification. ISO 9000 or CMMi knowledge.
