"Looking for a Financial Examination Specialist in Kansas City, MO The Financial Regulatory Affairs Division of this client is seeking an energetic and experienced person for their Financial Examination Specialist position. Interested applicants should have a master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting and a solid understanding of financial statement auditing. This position provides the candidate with an opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team of four highly-skilled financial auditors in supporting insurance regulators conducting onsite financial examinations nationwide. The team works cooperatively to identify challenges facing the financial examination process and works together to develop and implement solutions. While it can be challenging at times to undertake responsibility for improving regulatory processes, the rewards of the position come through seeing effective solutions being implemented across a large group nationwide. The Financial Examination Specialist also has the opportunity to work with a wide range of senior officials within the state insurance departments, while also coaching and supporting their field examination staff. This allows the Specialist to play an important role in protecting insurance policyholders and ensuring the financial soundness of the U.S. insurance industry as a whole. The primary responsibilities of this position include the development and maintenance of the Financial Condition Examiners Handbook and other tools that assist examiners in conducting effective examinations, assisting in the examination file review process, developing and presenting financial examination training materials, and providing staff support for various regulator groups as needed. A successful candidate should be self-motivated and willing to work on a variety of different types of projects, work well in a team environment, have well-developed communication skills and have a strong understanding of financial statement auditing techniques. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting required with a CPA/CFE (Certified Financial Examiner) designation preferred. Minimum requirement of 3 years of financial statement audit/exam experience with exposure to the insurance industry preferred. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and MS PowerPoint; • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment; • Must be highly organized; • Must have strong proofreading, verbal and written communication skills; • Excellent customer services skills; • Ability to effectively educate and train on technical material; and • Familiarity with insurance accounting and reporting requirements desired. • Requires the ability to draft memorandums, proposals, technical guidance and recommendations in a deadline situation. http://bull.hn/l/10J6K/"
