Kerr, a subsidiary of Sybron Specialties, manufactures and sells products for restorative and aesthetic dentistry, focusing on 4 key product categories: Cements, Bonding Agents, Impression Materials and Composites. These are consumables and are the type of materials a dentist uses on a daily basis for many common procedures. Kerr also sells some small equipment such as the award-winning Demetron Curing Light. JOB SUMMARY: In this position your role will report to the Plant Manager and you will be a key player in achieving plant goals and objectives by developing actions plans for all plant material functions including planning, buying, shipping and direct oversight of inventory control personnel. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Organizes, supervises, and directs all plant materials functions, including planning, shipping and inventory control personnel. • Establish and effectively manage project plans to achieve excellent customer service, reduce operating costs and inventory reduction. • Overall supervision of up to 20 employees. • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws (including, hiring, performance review and management). • Generates counter measure plans to keep group on track when goals are not being achieved. • Drive customer service focus while optimizing inventory investment. • Implement and maintain a Kan Ban system from finished goods to supplier. • Develops and maintains SOP's and compliance documentation, and resolves any non-compliance issues. WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU: The Manager, Materials Planning must possess proven experience in an FDA compliant industry. Strong problem-solving ability, analytical acumen and excellent communications skills are essential elements to be successful in this role. Lean Manufacturing and Oracle experience is a PLUS! Candidate must be willing to travel up to 10% (including once a month to our Mexcali facility) and meet the following criteria: • 3-5 years of management experience in Materials Planning. • Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management. • Strong problem solving and project management skills to achieve site objectives including increasing customer service, lowering operational costs and managing inventory levels. • Demonstrated proficiency in MS-Word, Excel and integrated ERP software systems. • Fluency in Spanish, a PLUS! EDUCATION: • 4-Year Bachelor’s degree required. • APICS Certification preferred.
