"Now Hiring: Desktop Application Packagers in Dallas, TX Creates MSI-based software installation packages for both, in-house developed and Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) software, for electronic distribution to a standard locked-down desktop environment. Works with application development and support teams, and business customers, to determine software installation requirements. Works with subject matter experts and project managers to validate installation packages, and pilot and deploy software. ·Helps create and maintain software installation packaging policies and procedures, including test plans and test cases. Manages workflow of packaging process from initial request to certification of software package. Maintains documentation for software packages. Communicates status and issues to management and key stakeholders. ·Applies optimal testing techniques and performs necessary quality control checks to verify software installation packages work as designed. Researches and troubleshoots installation package defects and makes necessary coding adjustments. Complies with software packaging quality and performance standards, and testing processes and procedures. Organizes and archives software package test cases and test scripts for future reuse. Escalates complex packaging issues to senior packagers. ·Participates in functional and technical specification reviews and works closely with design engineers and project teams to ensure software install packages meet quality and performance requirements. Knowledge, skills and abilities ·Demonstrates analytical and systematic approach to problem solving. · Takes initiative in identifying process improvement opportunities. ·Demonstrates effective communication skills. · Can plan, schedule, and monitor own work competently within limited time horizons. ·Is able to absorb and apply new technical information. ·Is able to work to required standards and to understand and use the appropriate methods, tools and applications. ·Software analysis and certification skills ·Understanding of, and ability to apply, basic inspection and testing techniques, and corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis Experience or combination of education & experience ·Experience with formal Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) ·Thorough knowledge of Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems, particularly with regard to the file system and system registry ·Three to five years experience packaging software for installation and deployment using Wise Package Studio ·Three to five years experience testing software-package install scripts in a Microsoft Windows environment ·Three to five years experience using Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) to deploy software packages to Wintel PCs ·Advanced knowledge of WISE MSI packaging techniques, VB Scripting, and creating MSI custom actions ·Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) certification is preferred ·Working knowledge of application virtualization is a plus  http://bull.hn/l/DYVZ/4"
