"Our client based in Cape Town (South Africa), seeks a Deputy Regional CFO. The ideal candidate is focused, ambitious, result driven, enjoys challenges and makes things happen; a true leader who enjoys performing in a dynamic and demanding environment. This position is at General Management Level and you will be reporting to the Regional CFO. Part of a small and dynamic performance orientated team, the successful candidate will be a key member of the regional team. The organisation’s head office based in Sub Saharan Africa (South Africa – Cape Town) is represented in 27 countries - divided into 5 clusters - and offers a broad range of logistics services. Responsibilities: o Responsible for Regional financial reporting, controlling and consolidation - secure complete, accurate and timely financial and management reporting; o Develop and maintain world class Finance Teams in all countries with the focus on enabling countries to deliver in line with expectations; o Process reviews, standardization of finance tasks and centralization/ outsourcing of same where realistic – continued expectation to improve our finance processes and efficiency; o Provide ongoing support to the Regional CFO; o Ensure implementation and maintenance of effective accounting procedures and control systems in accordance with policies and guidelines; o Establish and maintain a sound Working Capital strategy for Africa incl. adherence to credit policies and collection of receivables; o Ensure that world class internal control procedures are established and maintained throughout the Region, in close coordination with Centre; o Drive optimal cash management and risk management strategies; o Maintain strong relations with Centre as well as Cluster/ Country Finance managers throughout the Region; o Drive periodic Budget and Estimate processes and ensure precise and accurate follow up throughout the year; o Ensure that all IT systems efficiently support the business; Required background and experience: o Minimum 5 years experience as a manager in a finance function; o Degree in Finance or similar relevant background; o Understanding of/ firsthand experience with Developing World countries (Africa); o Proficient in Hyperion Finance Management reporting and consolidation process; o Extensive SAP IT systems knowledge and user ability; o High sense of urgency and drive; o Good business understanding of logistics business and requirements an added advantage; o Sound understanding of Finance processes and ability to optimize these; o Ability to provide leadership, obtain cooperation and assistance to meet objectives; o Excellent problem-solving skills; o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; o Strong team player; o Language skills: Proficient in English (spoken and written) – French and/or Portuguese will be an advantage; The position offers: Involvement in overall business decisions at a strategic level, as well as specific challenges in a complex finance/ business environment, an international working environment and ample professional development.
