Post Resume -Get Paid by Employers at Resumark .com Subject: Divisional Legal Counsel, major global FTSE 100 business – Western Germany – Ref 3712 McKenzie Douglas posted a job: Divisional Legal Counsel, major global FTSE 100 business – Western Germany – Ref 3712 "Our client, a highly successful, long established, global FTSE 100 company, is seeking a lawyer (ideally 2 – 6 years’ pqe*) to provide key support to one of their business divisions. Working in a small, integral team based in Western Germany, not far from Cologne, the role will have active involvement and collaboration with all aspects of the business - in particular the divisions’ leadership, commercial, procurement and finance teams, with a specific focus on legal, regulatory and business issues. The key responsibilities of this role cover: • Drafting, negotiating and reviewing major commercial contracts, ensuring that any risks taken are adequately balanced; • Dispute management – advising on strategy, managing budgets, negotiating settlements; • Corporate work –due diligence on acquisitions, assisting with ancillary arrangements for transitional services; • Compliance and regulatory issues; • Handling procurement contracts; • Supporting the divisions on other legal matters including employment and property transactions, as well as providing pragmatic, tactical and well-judged guidance on strategic matters. The size of the legal team in relation to the company as a whole is relatively small, meaning each lawyer’s role is crucial to the business and as such can have a genuine impact on success of the company as a whole.
