For any locations in Germany, preferably Offenbach / Frankfurt are we look for Labor & Employment Law Counsel, Germany & Austria Responsibilities Labor and Employee Relations • Advise and participate in the design, plan and implementation of a thorough labour relations strategy for Germany and Austria • Maintain/improve relationships with National Works council, Union representatives and local works council representatives across Germany and Austria by ensuring full information, consultation, co-determination compliance • Provides strategic LER leadership to Business and HR on German and Austrian collective labor agreements by monitoring the process and leveraging to company’s advantage all existing ‘opening clauses’ • Provide hands on support to local site leaders and HR community on local works agreements • Design and implement standardized tools and processes: for example social plan costing tool • Provide LER insights to M&A activities : acquisition screening, support to acquired company assimilation, support to green field projects, divestitures • Operational Transitions LER support : reduction in force projects, production transfer, outsourcing, divestiture • Identify and influence management regarding LER opportunities and threats • Increase LER know-how especially within the HR generalist population • Support deployment and assessment of Positive Employment Relation Survey as well Work related Stress initiatives Desired Education and Experience • Language fluency in at least German and English • Must be a German qualified lawyer with substantial experience advising multi nationals or ideally previous experience as an in-house lawyer Skills & Attributes • Must be willing to travel extensively within Germany and Austria and limited international travel • Ability to think conceptually and strategically, while maintaining a results-driven approach • Must think creatively, and be comfortable making contributions that go beyond strictly “labor” or “HR” issues and develop win/win solutions for business issues • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is a requirement • Proactive self-starter, who can work as part of a team.
