View company name and apply directly at: http://bit.ly/pGZwzh Job Description: This position has exposure to both proprietary applications development and third-party system implementation responsibilities. Business application functionality includes, but is not limited to: Collateral and Cash Management, Contact Management, Portfolio/Deal Management, Portfolio/ Partnership and Management Accounting, and Document Management. This position will allow the candidate to be exposed to and engage in a variety of tasks which include the following: • Application design • GUI design • Data conversions • Report development • Programming • Code reviews with other developers • Requirements Analysis • Interaction with Business Analysts • Unit Testing • Software Evaluation Requirements • Must understand and implement software design principles (e.g. OOPs, service oriented architecture) • 5+ years hands-on experience with software design and development with the Microsoft application development framework C#, .NET, ASP.NET, HTML/DHTML, ADO.NET, XML • 5+ years hands-on experience in database design; writing stored procedures; work with database tools like Erwin • 5+ years programming in SQLServer 2000/2005 • 5+ years of web application design concepts and issues awareness • Financial services knowledge is preferred • 5+ years with a report writer (e.g. Crystal Reports or MS Reporting Services) • Proven background in enterprise application design and implementation with emphasis on QA • Strong experience with development tools usage such as Visual SourceSafe • Strong experience in QA methodology, tool sets and developing testing strategy • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting techniques and detail-oriented problem diagnosis • Experience with accounting related functions for fixed income securities • Solid understanding of asset management practices and processes including the straight-through trade lifecycle; front, middle, and back office functions. Direct experience in a hedge fund environment is a plus. • Must have a B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline with a higher degree preferred • Eligible to work in the United States • Must exhibit a high level of personal initiative, ownership and accountability • Excellent people skills - demonstrated ability to work with both technical and non-technical individuals, both in gathering information and communicating expectations • Strong demonstrable project management skills, including determining project scope, requirements, project plan, resource estimates, on-time within budget project delivery with little supervision • Strong team oriented performer – understand, manage and work with vendor teams"
