Position Summary: As a Data Management Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring new data solutions required by researchers are set up in the library in line with data management best practice – including the definition, description, quality and usage of those assets. With coaching and mentoring from the Data Steward, you will learn why data management frameworks are key to delivering quality service to researchers and be able to evolve solutions delivery to higher level of quality. You will be responsible for the day to day ingestion of content into the library, ensuring that all data is correctly loaded, profiled and concorded, and addressing exceptions. You will build a strong operational relationship with the technology operations team, third party vendors and future outsource partners to ensure you achieve your goals excellently, allowing you to cut through issues quickly to achieve a fast resolution and continually evolve the quality of our processes to higher levels. As you evolve and grow in the role, you will develop expertise in data management practices, financial asset class domains and vendor / internal data management tools. The hedge fund provides training on markets and data through various classes, project work and mentorship. Job Responsibilities: • Setting up new data assets in the research data library • Managing the ongoing ingestion of data assets to required standards of quality and timeliness • Managing operational relationships with data source providers, internal customers and technology operations partners • Handling content related queries from internal customers • Strong financial data manipulation and analysis skills – expertise in Excel required, SQL experience preferred Position Requirements: • Passion for data and the opportunities it affords • 1-5 years of relevant experience • Familiarity with one or more of the following data domains:  Macroeconomic Data  Market Data: Fixed Income, FX, Commodities, Equities, Derivatives (Options, etc.)  Credit Data: ABS/RMBS/CMBS, Structured Derivatives, Loans  Company Data: Fundamentals, Estimates, Ownership (Holdings), Corporate Actions / M&A Data, Legal Entities • Experience in any of the following data specialties:  Data management (ETL tools, metadata management, database management)  Data manipulation (SQL, Excel based tools for analyzing and manipulating data)  Data profiling (quality grading, data modeling, concordance / reference master management)  Data governance and data quality management • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills • Experience working with data vendors and technology teams • Comfort with giving and receiving criticism • Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship • Must be willing to relocate to greater New York City area To Apply: • Please send your resume (as a Word document) to talent@elmtalent.com - put only “Data Analyst” in the subject line • Please include your GPA and standardized test scores on your resume Elm Talent Group specializes in matching elite early-career candidates with high-end firms in the finance, IT, and life science sectors.
