Duration of the 1st. stage: 6 months Type: Contract (with a possibility to transfer to permanent) Onsite: On location at the Client’s site 100% of the time. No telecommuting or remote work. Description: Our Client, a vacation ownership company, is looking for a Manager, Application Support - Application Development. The Manager, Application Support is responsible for managing ongoing support for a large suite of applications supporting company core business. Working closely with full time and contract developers, this individual will work with business partners to prioritize issues, schedule work logically, provide detailed metrics and propose relevant solutions to address ongoing issues. Responsibilities: • Manage work intake and resource assignment through the use of existing issue tracking tools; • Assess and prioritize issues by working directly with business customers to ensure that the most urgent items are being addressed in a timely manner; • Develop, lead and motivate a technical team to provide proprietary application support and minor enhancements; • Define level 2 application support process working with key teams including development, help desk (level 1 support), and Project Managers; • Responsible for defining SLAs with internal customers and monitoring/updating the ticketing system; • Differentiate between non-critical and critical problem symptoms, and devise root cause solutions, create ad-hoc reporting and implement acceptable fixes and/or workarounds for issues; • Provide detailed metrics and reports related to the support being provided and SLAs being met; • Plan and coordinate all application upgrades and ensure they are thoroughly tested and successfully deployed; • Collaborate with development team to provide root-cause solutions to recurring issues; • Establish, contribute to and/or adhere to all key departmental operating procedures around governance, project management, software lifecycle management, change management and application security controls; • Promote IT governance processes that ensure compliance with internal and external audit standards, procurement practices, and security standards; • Coordinate with Operation and Development teams to ensure overall systems performance and effective monitoring and response times; • Manage the development of team members, including setting objectives, coaching, training and delivering performance reviews. Requirements: • Experience developing and supporting in-house applications in a deadline driven environment (7-10 years); • Management/supervisory experience in a Support organization (3-5 years); • Experience with .NET development and/or RPG for AS400; • Experience with Project Management methodologies and experience managing small to medium sized projects; • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and planning and analytical skills; • Extremely organized with strong sense of priority, urgency and commitment to deadlines; • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpretive skills, as well as the ability to effectively present, negotiate, influence, and build consensus and partnerships; • Ability to work collaboratively with all level of employees, in small and large group settings under high pressure/quick response environments; • Willingness, ability, and flexibility to adjust work schedule for occasional nights and weekends in case of business need; • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field."
