"Now Hiring: Director of Quality in Illinois Job Description The Director of Quality leads the company in the application of Quality systems that achieve customer satisfaction, continuous improvement in processes and reduced total costs.  This position will also provide expert guidance to the Senior Staff and maintains positive communications with the company's customers, employees and suppliers.  Primary Responsibilities Establish and ensure the company-wide implementation of the Company's Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9000:2000/AS9100 and customer requirements.    Identify and implement current and applicable quality improvement tools and training, with focus on quality leadership, team-based problem solving, statistical process control techniques, cost of quality and continuous process improvement Establish and maintain partnership with all company functions, maintaining and improving the values of quality and promoting a culture in which all employees are responsible for quality.  Assures compliance with contractual requirements and quality assurance clauses, including certifications, acceptance and first article tests. Assures the organization maintains a robust internal audit and corrective action system Assures the organization maintains a robust supplier quality assurance and corrective action system Enhance and implement effective measurement on quality performance with specific focus on customer complaints and product consistency. Participates in and assures appropriate coordination is completed for customer, FAA, and government audits Assures the organization maintains and addresses all Failure Report and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) as required by customers Assures the coordination of software quality per DO-178B and interface with customer, FAA and government software quality and certification offices. Provide monthly status reports, including metrics for quality objects per the Quality Policy Provide professional development for all assigned team members. Explain and support company policies and procedures, complete performance reviews, develop key objectives and maintain accountability within the team. Assume leadership role for other business activities as necessary / requested in addition to regular duties Identification and implementation of road maps for continuous Quality improvement Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above Understand and live by the Company's ethics and business conduct policies Qualifications Thorough understanding of manufacturing repair processes In depth knowledge of ISO9000:2000/AS9100 Quality System Excellent leadership and management skills. Possess strong change management skills Possess strong business acumen. Excellent written and verbal communication and customer interface skills.
