"Hiring a Sr. Storage Engineer - Your storage career is about to explode! in Houston, TX For immediate consideration send resume to vince.rainey@ugsmail.com Sr. Storage Engineer • Responsible for storage management practices for Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS). Develops storage allocation, defines backup and archival procedures. • Primarily responsible for providing and maintaining uptime and appropriate capacity of the SAN systems in use, including local and remote data backup and replication functionality. • Zone servers in a CISCO SAN environment; allocate storage to windows servers using EMC tools. Provide reports on storage utilization and uptime of the storage arrays and servers attached to SAN. • Informs management of appropriate developments in technical support products. Evaluates products and upgrades for appropriateness. Oversees and implements system upgrade strategies. • Must be able to allocate storage to servers with EMC tools. • Develops and analyzes highly complex system standards, thresholds, and recommendations to maximize system performance. • Conducts capacity planning reviews with management and approves capacity plans. • Develops strategies to manage the frequency of appropriate support package/patch application. Monitors database maintenance and provides appropriate recommendations, when required. • Coordinates with business on proposals and work estimates involving system administration projects and solutions for onshore and offshore environments. Researches current systems technology and serves as subject matter expert on complex systems processes and procedures. • Maintains and modifies backup and recovery procedures. Installs, configure, and tests storage management software and hardware. • Provides technical leadership to appropriate personnel on highly complex data system administration activities and provides technical solutions and escalated support for non routine, complex technical issues. • Provides technical leadership to internal and external personnel on highly complex data storage system installation processes. • Responsible for implementing and administrating EMC Avamar backup and recovery. • Performs activities required to deploy and support the enterprise storage infrastructure, including SAN (Fiber channel and iSCSI), NAS (NFS and CIFS), and direct-attached storage: o Multi-protocol storage architecture o Data protection strategies and implementations o Storage provisioning o Project planning o Storage component selection, configuration planning, and procurement o Configuration and maintenance of storage component software o Configuration and management of storage monitoring o Performance analysis and capacity planning for storage infrastructure o Data security configuration and management REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience. 7+ years of related experience. • ... http://bull.hn/l/UL9P/3"
