"OSS Systems Analyst Buckinghamshire, Home Counties, High Wycombe Up to £50,000 p/a + bonus and excellent corporate benefits An opportunity has become available for an experienced OSS Systems Analyst to join an international telecoms service provider to oversee the delivery and enhancement of operational support systems for the company. The role holder will make recommendations and add new functionality to the software and tools for the business, specifically around Trouble Ticketing and Monitoring systems / Performance Management Systems and Data Capture. Working closely with the Network Operations department (NOC), 3rd party application development partners and internal IT resource, you will provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance the existing systems. This role requires someone to identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes and investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide first level support and troubleshooting of the OSS applications. Key responsibilities include: * Coordinate application development for multiple projects. * Assist in troubleshooting software application issues. * Assist in managing an outsource relationship for 3rd party application development. * Provide assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications OSS tools. * Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including user guides, etc. * Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications. * Participate in weekly meetings with the IT network team to discuss progress and issues *Participate on IT project steering committees and be involved in the design phase of any new IT software development projects. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience as an IT Systems / OSS Analyst for a telecoms operator, carrier, ISP, service provider, network company or other similar organisation. Candidates should have background experience with systems networking, network monitoring, ticket tool development, and user support. Candidates with knowledge of Trouble Ticket / Ticketing, Fault Logging and Monitoring systems are highly desirable. Specific knowledge of Nagios, Remedy, CSC is desirable but not essential. Candidates must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, be good communicators, self motivated and possess project management skills with effective results focus within an information systems environment.
