Industry: Aerospace/Defense Products & Services Job Overview Title: Supplier Quality Engineer Reports to: Director of Quality Works with: Quality staff, individual employees, as well as suppliers and customers Location: Rockford, IL USA Job Summary The primary role of the Supplier Quality Engineer is to provide quality assurance direction and expertise in the Supplier Quality programs. Works directly with suppliers to ensure supplier quality systems meet company requirements. Primary Responsibilities • Responsible as the Quality representative for all activities related to supplier quality control. • Work directly with the Purchasing organization to develop old and new suppliers. • Assists with supplier selection to ensure that the suppliers selected are the most capable of providing quality product and services on-time. • Responsible for the design and execution of a supplier rating system. Work with the Director of Quality and Purchasing to develop appropriate supplier metrics and methodologies and distribute appropriate information to the supplier. • Responsible for development and maintenance of incoming supplier quality metrics. Modify receiving inspection planning accordingly (i.e. implement decreased/increased inspection levels based upon supplier performance history). • Assess suppliers conformity with company expectations and applicable FAA, ISO-9001 & AS-9100 Quality Management System Requirements • Independently partner/work with suppliers to improve performance, implement process control and quality plans. • Perform on-site supplier quality audits and provide technical expertise for supplier quality systems improvements. Exercise independent judgment on when audits are required, depth and type of audits required and assigning supplier corrective actions. • Lead root cause investigations to implement corrective actions on purchased components • Develop, issue, review, evaluate, and follow up on all supplier corrective action requests. • Works with engineers and customers to ensure that all requirements are known and effectively communicated to current/potential suppliers. • Participate on the Material Review Board and act as a liaison to suppliers regarding disposition of non-conforming material. • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above Qualifications • Working knowledge of blueprint interpretation in accordance with ANSI/Y-14.5 • S... http://bull.hn/l/10FPR/3"
