One of our client looking for the below mentioned position. Position: Technical Consultant Total experience: 9+ yrs Job Description Providing high level technical expertise and consulting services to Marketing / Bid Teams and Development teams, covering all aspects of Electrical Utility Systems with primary focus on GIS platform implementations and its integration with other enterprise systems. Providing technical expertise to Marketing and Bid Teams in preparing responses for customer proposals. Should be able to provide overall direction and technical solution (including highlevel architecture) to enable us to technically qualify. Providing technical expertise to Development teams in the configuration, testing and implementation of new/enhanced systems and other related advice, technical directions and consultancy. Estimating the effort involved in such development activities to support bid/proposal preparation. Appraising and reporting on new development techniques and vendor products, and making recommendations on the acquisition of advanced technology. Facilitating the convergence of various GIS technologies / platforms into enterprise architecture. Validating functionality and performance of new development projects within the organization’s systems. Diagnosing and solving technical issues that may arise during the development life cycle. Providing technical solution definition and design, system configuration, data integration, and technical support during the implementation phase. Desired Profile Expert skills in configuration and implementation of GIS platforms and technologies. Expert skills in many programming areas and development languages, including operating systems, utilities and applications development tools. Strong knowledge of technical concepts of enterprise architecture, contemporary IT strategies, directions and technologies. Good understanding of spatial database systems (ex: Oracle spatial, Postgre, MSSQL etc.) Working knowledge in one or more of GE – SmallWorld, Intergraph – G/Technology, ESRI will be an added advantage. Exposure to open source software development Analytical and problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication, attention to detail and follow-through skills.
