(NYSE: GNW) Raleigh NC Core skills are Lotus Notes Domino, Microsoft .NET technologies, Java and J2EE. Primary responsibilities in the position are: • supporting third-party vendor applications, • providing some customization of these applications to enhance • mostly supporting the functionality of these applications within Genworth Financial • learning new technologies Most programming modifications will be done by the vendor. Must have rock-solid skills, like a challenge, want to work in a team environment, want to grow and expand your skills to other areas in the financial and insurance services industry. RESPONSIBILITIES • Provides project leadership and support for legal and compliance applications implemented using a variety of technologies and delivery models. • Works with team members to develop, enhance, and support legal and compliance applications and processes. • Partners with legal and compliance staff members to understand user needs and concerns when developing enhancements or troubleshooting issues. • Works with application vendors and external support on issues such as upgrades, technical problems and solutions. • Interacts with shared services and technical support providers to ensure successful implementation of changes in compliance with appropriate change control processes. • Demonstrates command of multiple programming languages, basic systems analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage, and interfacing. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • 1-2 years experience with Business Objects reporting and universe design • 1-2 years experience with relational database queries. • Flexibility to adapt to multiple work assignment types/projects based on business needs. • Strong communication, organization and performance execution skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Firm understanding of the development life cycle including analytical skills necessary to work with technical and functional counterparts. • Experience supporting both custom-developed and vendor-provided applications. • 3-5 years experience developing and supporting Oracle 10g/11g and Microsoft SQL Server 2005+ databases • Experience working with contractors, both onshore and offshore. • Experience in a matrixed IT organization.
