"Process Engineer - Oilsands Ref USEN32060 Company Description Chronos Consulting's client is a global leader with a recognized brand in laboratory, testing, inspection and certification services. They provide a single source solution which address challenges specifically to the Oil Sands industry. They have a well established pilot plant facility based in Ft McMurray which provides an extensive platform of testing technologies for the heavy oils and minerals industry. We are seeking a Process Engineer to initiate and implement best practices in all areas of the Pilot program according to the clients' scope of work. Job Description The Role: Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for: Delivering high performance results in all phases of the Pilot operation, working on two or more projects at once. Supervising 45 technical staff in on time, on scope, and on budget project completion. Leveraging continuous improvement opportunities in operational processes and employee performance. Optimizing Pilot design specifications while processing the client’s scope of work. Maintaining quality and integrity standards in data, data analysis and reporting as well as articulating findings to the client. Effectively liaising with clients throughout the Pilot process as well as proposing opportunities for future project work. Skill Required The Requirements: Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering in the field of Chemical Engineering, Processing, or Metallurgy preferred. 7-10+ years experience in oil and gas, or petrochemical/mining/minerals processing and pilot facilities with 4+ years in operations and 2+ years supervisory level management experience. Technical knowledge in Oilsands extraction processes as well as experience with hydrocarbon oils. Developed leadership skills with the ability to influence the actions and opinions of others. Proven ability to set expectations and monitor delegated activities while inspiring staff in planning, decision making and process improvement. Solid analytical, problem-solving skills and experience reporting and communicating reports to clients. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
