Specialties Packet Aggregation Switching, Aggregation and Filtering, Network Monitoring Productivity Solutions, Enterprise Network Solutions, Data Center Solutions, Test Lab Automation Apply to www.apcon.com/careers Basic Function: Research, design and develop next generation computer software systems while contributing to the existing product line. Responsibilities: • Designs and develops new enterprise software systems from conception through production including design of embedded systems and device drivers primarily in C. • Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. • Consults with engineering team members to evaluate operational and performance requirements of overall system. • Participates in technical reviews of product requirements. • Develops initial unit and functional tests to support quality assurance group. • Generates and documents new software for release. • Updates existing product lines as needed. • Works in both an independent and team member environment to meet product delivery goals. Required Skills and Abilities • Very strong C/C++ programming for embedded systems in a Linux environment. • Strong knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems ( RTOS.) • Experience with Linux low-level kernel development • Experience implementing TCP/IP,UDP,SSL,HTTP,HTTPS and SNMP in embedded systems. • Experience with GNU cross-platform tools ( gcc, gdb, etc.) • Remote Call Procedures ( RPC), a plus Education and Experience • BS degree (BSEE or BSCS strongly preferred, MSCS a plus) or the equivalent in training and experience. • 5+ years experience using formal software development processes.
