Mechanical Engineer(2) in Illinois Job Description This opportunity is for a mechanical engineer in the northern llinois area for design, support and test of moderate to high complexity industrial turbine components such as control valves (gas, liquid, water) and IGV/VGV actuators.  Major Responsibilities • Identify appropriate analysis of mechanical designs, identify and minimize risk and liaise with appropriate specialist engineers (Stress, Materials, Manufacturing, etc.)  • Provide technical expertise to project teams and other functional groups in support of new and mature products  • Fully document designs, prepare design schemes and attend or conduct design reviews  • Ensure that mechanical designs meet requirements with regard to technical, cost, reliability, environmental and maintainability criteria   • Offer sound technical solutions to problems and review and approve associated manufacturing drawings and acceptable deviations  • Evaluate design alternatives culminating in optimal solution selection  • Prepare new test procedures, engineering changes and process studies   • Assist in providing timescale estimates in the compilation of project plans and milestones for mechanical design activities   • Generate and execute performance calculations  • Provide internal mentoring and communication, assuring compliance to rules and regulations  • Participate in and promote process improvements Qualifications / Requirements • BS degree in engineering  • 1 year experience up to more than 8 years of mechanical engineering experience  • Practical knowledge and application of:        o fluid dynamics o material stress and strength theory        o 2D and 3D CAD applications        o dimensional stack up study       o Geometric Dimensioning & TolerancingIndustry standards (ASME, ASTM, MIL, NAS, etc.) and regulatory compliance   • Practical knowledge of theory and application of some or all of the following:        o Electro-hydraulic servo-valves         o Hydraulic actuators (single/double acting)         o Fuel metering valves, shut-off valves, bypass valves   • Effective written and verbal communication skills including presenting to various audiences   • Fluent in the English language   • US citizen or permanent resident  Please send your resume to: career@mw-recruiting-services.com or marlyn.w@live.com http://bull.hn/l/OMC7/6"
