Reports To: Operations Manager with a dotted line to the Regional Lean Deployment Manager Summary: Research, plan, train, execute and facilitate operational improvement programs in order to create a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing that leads to associate empowerment, elimination of waste, and KRA improvement (safety, quality, service, and cost). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead change management process within the plant. Lead continuous improvement projects through cross-functional team facilitation and project management Use lean manufacturing tools (e.g., value stream mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Gemba walks, LMS, root cause problem solving) to identify and develop solutions that drive operational improvement Provide leadership by mentoring associates in the use of Lean tools, ensuring transfer of knowledge, and creating a culture of continuous improvement Collect and analyze data on plant processes, procedures, and performance using evaluation tools and make recommendations on improvements to operational leaders Facilitate the development of A3 project plans so that all aspects of the project scope are properly managed Track, monitor, and report regularly on project status; monitor product and process improvement milestones to ensure on-time completion and sustainability Analyze, develop, ratify, implement, and standardize manufacturing best practices across the network Establish collaborative relationship with local plant management Leadership Skills: Inspire (create compelling future, develops and motivates, positive influence, celebrates successes) Impact (accomplish important work, reliable, executes, continually raises the bar) Innovate (champions new ideas, continuous improvement, adaptable, practical solutions) Functional Skills: Manufacturing Operations Lean Manufacturing Problem Identification and Resolution Oral and Written Communication Engineering Design and Analysis Coaching and Development Project Management Education/Experience/Job Factors/Work Environment: 2-5 years experience in operational analysis and continuous improvement implementation in a manufacturing environment. Work is primarily active in nature on plant floor Up to 20% travel. Position Qualifications: Strong leadership skills with the ability to facilitate teams and influence direction. Ability to learn and lead Lean concepts and tools. (5S, value stream mapping, visual workplace, flow and pull mfg, etc). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
