The U.S. Associate experience fosters the opportunity to connect with people who can help guide you career. The U.S. Associate position will be available for a maximum of 2 years. The goal of the U.S. Associate program is to develop the ideal candidate into a full-time position at the end of the two years. Department Overview: NIP North America is the project finance group for the company located in New York and is comprised of 12 + people responsible for: • Originating and structuring project finance or other structured • Financings in the US and Canada involving power generation and transmission including renewable energy, natural gas and LNG infrastructure, coal mining, transportation infrastructure, and social infrastructure involving Public-Private partnerships. • Portfolio management and risk monitoring of CA-CIB’s North American project finance portfolio. Responsibilities: • Direct involvement into the origination, structuring and distribution of project finance transactions, including: portfolio analysis and models, preparation of pitch books, term sheets, customer meetings, interaction with lawyers, financial institutions, accounting and tax advisors, rating agencies, etc… • Process credit applications for approval of transactions including preparation of a summary of transaction, description of main participants and detailed risk analysis, as well as financial modeling and forecasting project outcomes. • Produce annual reviews for loan monitoring assignments within the existing project finance portfolio. • Each task requires a strong interaction with the other members of the group; the associate would work within transaction teams. Requirements: • Recent college graduate with a degree in Finance, Engineering or related field • Strong work ethic • Capacity to work both in a team as well as autonomously • Sound judgment • Ability to work with financial models; facility with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word • Analytical skills with the ability to apply abstract knowledge to concrete situations"
