View company name and apply directly at: http://bit.ly/o5XVOx Job Description: Start Up Hedge Fund Operations Associate: A midtown Manhattan based start-up long/short equity hedge fund launching with over $50 million is seeking an operations associate. Position will involve working closely with the Managing Partner in all non-investment aspects of operating and building an institutional quality hedge fund management business. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1) Assist in the generation and reconciliation of funds daily P&L 2) Reconcile trades with counterparties 3) Assist in preparation of daily trade blotter 4) Review financial statements in conjunction with the administrators calculation of the monthly NAV 5) Assist in preparation of statistical data for use in portfolio management analytics 6) Assist in preparation of fund marketing materials 7) Assist in investor relation function 8) Build and oversee filing systems 9) Maintain books and records of management company expenses 10) Communicate and assist auditors with the audit of the year end financial statements 11) Communicate and assist tax preparers with the preparation of tax returns and K-1s. Qualifications: 1) The candidate MUST hold an undergraduate degree from a top university, preferably in accounting or finance. 2) One to two years of work experience within the finance industry are REQUIRED. 3) Strong skills in Microsoft office, especially Excel, are REQUIRED."
