Storage Administrator (555) Contract through December 2011 McLean, VA Storage Area Network (SAN) Engineer – Design/configure fiber channel attached (SAN) storage and Network Attached Storage (NAS) to meet business needs. Work with System Administrators and/or Applications Teams to migrate their data from older IBM ESS800 and EMC DMX2 storage units to new VMAX and CX4 units using VPLEX directors. Conduct analyses to determine the best way to configure the disk volumes or file systems for optimum performance and availability (disk array configuration management). Interface with System Administrators and/or Application teams to troubleshoot and fix application/performance problems. Assist in the planning and migration of TSM systems from V5.x.x to V6.x.x and then execute said plans. Participate in planning for separate data backup flow for long term data retention of data. Create Separate backup / recovery flows for Tactical/BCP data recovery vs. Long-Term retention and data archive. Migrate data and backup schedules from LT02/TapeLib equipment to new LT04/TabeLib and Data Domain 880 VTL Disk/De-dup Backup Units. Add/modify/remove TSM Schedules as needed, cataloging tapes, vaulting tapes and moving them in and out of the automated tape library to physical storage racks, receiving tapes, checking them in, unpacking them, labeling them and getting them ready for use, investigate and resolve failed backups on these new systems, and assist internal customers in recovery of data from TSM. Senior (7+ years) 3-7 years’ IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) preferred. Basic Unix (Solaris, AIX, Linux) and Windows system administration skills are preferred."
