Supports a range of market strategy activities essential to KP's membership and margin goals. Market Strategy & Analysis Consultants provide analytical/strategic-thinking and leadership support that enables project teams to: 1) isolate business issues; 2) design and execute analytics for studying business issues (market research, scenario planning, forecasting, market share, profitability, etc.); 3) develop technical content (competitive intelligence, market trend analysis); 4) support development of formal recommendations to senior levels of KP leadership; 5) create documents (line of business strategies, etc.) that inform critical strategic issues and decisions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Works with business/segment owners to identify key business issues. Manages major membership and rates analytical and/or marketing strategy projects Develops analytic framework required to analyze market strategy issues. Sets project and staff priorities. Owns the outcome- represents findings to stakeholders BUSINESS IMPACT Contributes to the achievement of membership growth goals and successful market strategies. Typical errors would cause moderate delays, inefficiencies and/or expenses. DECISION-MAKING Involves interpreting and analyzing established concepts. Exercises judgment to make decisions for less defined issues and selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. PROBLEM SOLVING Develops solutions to complex market strategy problems. May refer to established precedents and policies when making decisions. Requires significant analysis to develop solutions for complex problems INTERACTIONS / COMMUNICATIONS Provides professional/technical guidance on membership, rates, financial and competitive data to team members. Influences others regarding existing concepts, processes and/or methodology. MANAGEMENT OF STAFF Provides periodic informal work guidance/direction to, and training of team members. Basic Qualifications: 3+ years related experience; Or, Master's degree and 1+ years experience in Business or Healthcare Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in strategic thinking, plus working knowledge of other related fields. Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, market strategy practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Through knowledge of membership, rates, financial, economic and competitive data. Strong PC Application Skills (MS Office, including PowerPoint and Excel). Preferred Qualifications: At least 5 years related experience in Business or Healthcare Knowledge of Access and other databases, including ability to manipulate databases such as MS Excel and/or Access, as well as manipulating reports and generating reports. Health care industry experience"
