"Manufacturing Engineer Want to get out of the automotive industry? Do you have a machining background? Interested in working with new equipment and establishing processes? This is for you! Non-automotive supplier is seeking a manufacturing engineer to work in their machining manufacturing environment. The manufacturing engineer will report to an engineering manager and be responsible for product and process improvement activities and engineering projects for the machining portion of this plant. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing production by reducing scrap, resolving manufacturing issues, increasing efficiencies, making process improvements, overseeing capital equipment projects, designing cell and line layout, designing fixtures and jigs and communicating with production in order to optimize equipment capabilities. Responsibilities will also include providing technical guidance and training production employees as needed on machining processes. Candidates are required to have strong problem solving skills and the desire to improve processes. The manufacturing engineer should be able to handle multiple projects, resolve problems, work independently, and be self-directed and capable of completing their own paperwork. This is a salary position with EXCELLENT benefits, including medical, dental, vision, pension plan and 401K, vacation and holiday pay. REQUIREMENTS for the manufacturing engineer: 1. A Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field, mechanical preferred 2. At least 3 years in a similar manufacturing engineering role 3. Experience working in a machining environment – aerospace, automotive or medical 4. Experience making process improvements and scrap reductions 5. CNC programming 6. Tooling troubleshooting 7. AutoCAD experience for the use of line and cell layout and the design of fixtures and jigs 8. 3D modeling 9. General knowledge of heat treating, casting and forging 10. Microsoft Office Skills preferred but NOT required: 1. Lean or Six Sigma methodologies 2. Experiences working for tight tolerances 3. Unigraphics Why work for this organization: 1.
